I am an international higher education professional with about 25 years work experience in the higher education and commercial sectors. I have lived and worked in the USA, UK and the Netherlands. I have extensive experience, and an excellent success record, in internationalisation of higher education, international student recruitment and admissions, including strategic planning and management. I’ve worked as a team/division manager for more than twenty years, including as head of department.
In the corporate sector I have worked as a conference producer and team leader for a large American publishing company in London. I developed and marketed business to business conferences which were held all over Europe.
I am able to put my experience to use in an education or commercial setting, focusing on embedding internationalisation, and defined objectives within that, in the core structures and everyday activities of the organisation. I believe policymaking becomes significant only when it is realistic and translated to action and engages staff in the organisation - including sceptics - directly from the onset. I have a pragmatic rather than bureaucratic approach. I am an effective communicator, can turn critics into converts; a ‘people person’.
I am married to a Frenchman, I have two children and am based in Hilversum in the Netherlands.
